Saturday fun extension

In January I draw a face of a girl (Saturday fun) and now I wanted to screen print it. So I went down to the studio and tried it. It was my first screen printing after an induction so was very new and exciting. First I tried it in orange but because I did not wash the screen properly it was not printing well so I washed it and tried a green color and it came out really nice I think ;o)..

Solar Plate Workshop

Very interesting process. I was trying draw my own image using glue, pens, sand, tape etc..butunfortunately it did not come out that well. The image after exposing wasn't that strong and on some place wasn't at all so the print looked funny. But I'm glad I experimented and I willdefinitely try it again...

Collage extension...hard day!

Well our next project I would say a holiday project is called a collage extension project..We had to choose one collage out out those 100 we made at the beginning of the year and find a way to extend in. I have chosen screen printing but I tell you even thought I had a good idea the work didn't go as well as expected and because they shut for the holiday there is no way I could go back and finish it meehhhhh meeeehh.....so hello scissor and glue?

my chosen collage

2 days at the studio:
Ohhh my God today was the hardest day of screen printing for me.. Well must mentioned that i did print a previous day and also was getting stuff ready for today. Everything started pretty well I printed nice cool pattern it look good and I was happy with the outcome.. the mystery begun when I wanted to print on it. The inks did not like each other. I could not print with others colors on it. I played around for about 3 hours yeah 3 hours of hard washing exposing and trying managed to wreck my screen and nobody knew why the print is not printing...I just wanted to scream!I ended up using a brush at the end ....it took me a long time to brush the paint all over it.....and than i was printing another image and another image the ink was lots of time transparent so I found out myself by the sink all the time washing and washing the screen..time went quickly I had no food all day and whats more I did not managed to finish it. So DISAPPOINTED but I ll try to finish it at home somehow. Cut and paste? Anyway I'm pretty excited about the exhibition even thought I cant attend it as it is happening on wed I think which is my work day ;o(

Stop motion workshop

This was the best workshop I have done at LCC. I have enjoyed it so much that I spent days thinking about it. I have seen that mini movie million times and still it makes me laugh. I could play with the programme for hours. It takes lots of patience and time to make it but I have that patience for it.

Something to do in Manchester

I was reading Sunday newspapers and came across this gallery in Manchester. It's actually Museum called People's history museum. It has collection of 18th and 19th century political cartoons and it is generally regarded as one of the finest outside the British Museum. There are significant poster collections, particularly some 1500 political posters relating to the Spanish Civil War and to the Labour Party, some 3000 badges from a variety of organisations and an important collection of political tokens and medals. There is a substantial collection of the work of Cliff Rowe, a founding member of the Artists International Association, a collection of commemorative ceramics and some 70,000 photographic images covering labour history, the Labour Party and more general social history.
